Our Story

kə’nekt strives to provide support to adult men and women who wish to recover from substance use disorder by offering individual counseling, life skills groups and peer coaching.

Early recovery is very exciting! It can feel like you are reborn, that you are brand new and the possibilities are endless. The good news is that you are right!

If you are like us, rebuilding your life can seem overwhelming. Support groups, housing, getting your license back, creating a resume and going on job interviews, parenting, budgeting, exploring your spirituality, exercising, eating right,  finding out what you are passionate about and what you like to do for fun. How do you build relationships and how do you introduce yourself to new people?

Lived experience. We’ve been there and have a proven track record of creating a successful whole health wellness plan for ourselves. Our hope is that we can help you begin to take the steps necessary to create the person you want to be.

Who are you a year from now? Your first session will begin with a look at the 7 dimensions of wellness to help create an individualized treatment plan. The possibilities are endless and our coaches are dedicated to providing a strengths based approach while walking this journey with you.

ke’nekt encourages clients to be self-directed, empowered and strive for independence. Our coaches meet with clients in their community frequently to provide support while life unfolds the adventure that awaits.

“My first-hand experience led me to create a program where recovery takes place by connecting within yourself as well as connecting outwardly with your community.

Through counseling, life skill groups and peer-coaching, individuals are encouraged to build new communities and take those first steps.”

Testimonials

"I meet with my peer coach and do all of the things with her that I don't want to do on my own. We do the tasks together that seem hardest or most daunting, like going to the Human Services Office, applying for financial assistance, researching potential job opportunities and signing up for volunteering requirements. My peer coach helps support me and makes me feel like I don't have to do these things alone."

"Meeting with my peer coach gives me something to look forward to each week. It gets me out of my house and my own head space. We spend sessions doing fun things together which is helping me see that my recovery lifestyle can be fun and enjoyable."

"I have told so many people in my parenting classes and treatment groups that meeting regularly with my peer coach has helped make my recovery successful. My peer coach helps me feel like I can navigate my life and makes me feel not so overwhelmed. My coach is also someone I can feel like I share things with that she will understand that others may not. I look forward to meeting with her and tackling what is on my plate for the week together."
